How Bioganix Can Help You Achieve Your Environmental Targets and Be More Sustainable in The Futurecreative55
By 2030 the United Nations hopes to have halved the amount of food we waste around the globe.
The goal is known as UN SDG 12.3 and you’ll likely hear it talked about a lot more in the coming months and years as we get closer to the deadline.
Of course, it’s a hugely ambitious target…
But it’s one retailers and government are slowly starting to take notice of.
For example, in September last year Tesco called on the government to introduce mandatory food waste reporting.
Tesco were the first retailer to publish their figures back in 2013 and more firms are following suit.
At the moment, there’s no real regulation on this front, but as issues such as the climate crisis and greater sustainability gain more and more media attention…
It might not be long before much stricter rules are put in place.
It’s important any company dealing with a large amount of food waste recycling begins to take action now.
The good news:
Here at Bioganix…
We can help you do exactly that.
A Third of The World’s Food Is Wasted
It’s estimated around a third of the food produced globally is wasted.
It’s a huge amount.
And one food waste campaigner, an organisation called FareShare, reports the food industry wastes around 1.9 million tonnes of food here in the UK alone.
That includes food wasted at the retail, production and manufacturing stages too.
It’s a big issue…
And if your organisation is required to recycle a large amount of food waste, you’ll know it can be both time consuming and costly.
It’s why, as part of our food waste recycling service, we look for ways you can offset some of the cost, such as extracting reusable oils where possible and taking care of other recycling needs you might have.
Plus, thanks to our anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities, in some situations, we are able to generate renewable energy in the recycling process.
As well as making full use of our AD facilities and looking for recycling savings and efficiencies elsewhere in your organisation…
We also make every effort to recycle packaging as well as food waste.
It means we can help reduce landfill and make the whole process as green as possible.
Of course, when it comes to handling your food waste recycling, it’s all done sensitively and securely.
(This is particularly the case should you require the disposal or destruction of any products that are unsuitable for re-entry to the market.)
But the key factor here is…
When it comes to effectively and efficiently dealing with food waste in a way that supports your environmental and sustainability goals…
Here at Bioganix, we’ll go out of our way to support you and together we can hopefully contribute in some small way to UN SDG 12.3.
By far the best way to see just how much of a difference we could make to your current food waste recycling arrangements is to organise an initial site visit.
This way we can learn more about the general waste challenges you face and offer specific advice on how we can help you overcome them.
It won’t cost you a penny for us to come and visit you and you’re under no obligation to work with us if we do.
So, don’t hesitate to get in touch…
You can reach us on 01652 637803 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll take it from there.
