The Benefits of Being ISO Accredited

Here at Bioganix we’re always looking for ways of improving our range of eco-friendly services. So, it made perfect sense for us to apply for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation. And we’re happy to announce that the international standards authority have recognised our ongoing commitment to the delivery of safe, reliable and good quality services; awarding us with certification. But why is ISO accreditation so important and what difference does it make to our business? Read on as we answer these key questions.

Gaining ISO 9001 Status

The awarding of ISO 9001 status comes as recognition of our commitment to meeting the needs of customers and stakeholders in line with regulations that apply to our organic recycling services.

We’ve had to prove commitment to these quality management principles for ISO 9001 certification:

  • Customer focus
  • Leadership
  • Engagement of people
  • Process approach
  • Improvement
  • Evidence-based decision making
  • Relationship management

In gaining ISO 9001 status we’ve joined over a million international organisations who’ve made positive changes based on the requirements of this management system standard. We’ve also shown our commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring that we deliver environmental services that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Becoming ISO 14001 Certified

We’ve had to implement an environmental management system for ISO 14001 certification. In following the recommended framework, we’ve been able to assure our stakeholders and customers that we’re continuously monitoring and minimising our environmental impact. We now have an established environmental management system that conforms with established environmental policies and requirements.

We’ve met these standards in combining ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditation:

  • Drafting a policy statement and quantifiable objectives
  • Setting up organisational charts and job descriptions
  • Providing adequate resources
  • Managing documentation for both standards in a single document control system
  • Appointing a management representative as well as coordinators for the quality and environmental management systems.

Improving Our Reputation

The awarding of ISO 9001 and 14001 status comes as recognition of our continuous drive to improve the quality of our environmental services. We’re now able to give our customers the assurance of ISO compliance; with a positive impact on the reputation of our business. We are hopeful that this will make a positive difference in terms of client attraction and retention. Certification has also boosted our international standing, opening up brand new market opportunities.

Enhancing the Quality of Our Services

The steps taken for achievement of the ISO certifications have had a variety of beneficial impacts. There have been significant improvements in the quality of our processes and services. We’ve seen an increase in the already high levels of customer satisfaction.

Empowering Our Employees

The implementation of the ISO quality management system has called for the involvement and commitment of the entire Bioganix team. It’s meant giving our employees clear and concise instructions on how to fulfil set responsibilities and meet quality objectives. We’ve been able to monitor performance against the ISO standards, allowing us to give direct and actionable feedback.

We’re also confident of realising these business benefits:

  • Winning more contracts
  • Reducing service issues
  • Minimising business costs
  • Improving the consistency of our environmental practices
